Blue Planet Foundation is a local nonprofit organization committed to ending the use of fossil fuels on Earth, starting in Hawaii. We can eliminate Hawaii's dependency on imported oil by switching to local, clean, renewable sources of energy. The result? Energy security, economic growth, job creation, environmental protection, and a better quality of life for Hawai‘i residents.

Honua Awards Blue Planet Foundation's annual Honua Award is given to an individual or organization who has made significant contributions toward moving Hawaii down the path to a clean energy future. The 2010 Honua Award was given to Colonel Robert Rice, Commanding Officer of Marine Corps Base Hawaii, for his bold energy initiatives.
