Dana A. Barbata is an attorney with Cades Schutte LLP where she has practiced general civil litigation since 2017. Prior to joining Cades, Dana was a Deputy Attorney General in the State of Hawaii’s Civil Rights Litigation Division from 2013-2016, and an associate attorney at Bronster Hoshibata LP practicing civil litigation from 2010-2013. Dana holds a J.D. from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, also completing an internship at the United Nations Environmental Programme in Paris France, clerkships at the United States Environmental Protection Agency in Washington, DC and Denver, Colorado, and a clerkship at Denver Water, Colorado’s largest water utility.
Dana joined Blue Planet’s Ambassador Board in 2017 and was elected its Chair in 2019. Dana was recognized in Pacific Business News’ 40 under 40 2019 cohort, and was listed in Best Lawyers Ones to Watch in 2020 for her Environmental Law and Professional Liability practices. She enjoys hiking, running, scuba diving, skiing, traveling, and spending time with family.
