Melissa Miyashiro, executive director of local nonprofit Blue Planet Foundation, describes her leadership style as “compassionate, creative and collaborative.”
“The climate challenge demands the best of us, which means I want everyone on my team to feel supported and show up as their best selves,” Miyashiro told Pacific Business News.
Heading into the 2023 state legislative session and with new administration led by Hawaii Gov. Josh Green, Miyashiro said Blue Planet is prioritizing three areas of focus: increasing affordability through energy and water efficiency, reducing carbon emissions from transportation, and elevating the human health impacts of climate change in resilience planning.
