Griff leads Blue Planet’s education programs, student and teacher engagement activities, and youth outreach. He graduated with an Elementary Education degree from the University of Northern Iowa, where he also played collegiate athletics. He has been living in Hawaii since 2010.
An educator at his core, Griff began his teaching career in Southern California which continued in Hawai’i in the public, private, and charter school systems since 2005. Preserving the future has been a common thread throughout his career, from spearheading green initiatives like the Go Green and Garden Clubs and school-wide recycling programs to his most recent initiatives building clean energy toolkits and the Climate Crew program.
Griff’s owner is Eddie, a three-legged cat (@tripod_eddie).

At Blue Planet Foundation, I get to combine both of my passions while working with incredibly intelligent, heartfelt people who are all driven to achieve the same goal.”
