As Blue Planet’s Operations Director, Chika handles internal operations and administrative matters. She was born and raised in Japan till her mid-teen years when she moved to Hawai‘i. As a graduate of University of Hawai‘i’s School of Travel Industry Management, she brings experience and knowledge of the state’s visitor industry.
Before Blue Planet
Her most recent professional role was as a brand manager at the state’s tourism agency, overseeing multiple international markets as well as spearheading the redesigning of the agency’s consumer-facing website. Her prior experiences also include project management, communications, cable businesses, video production, contract procurement, and professional Japanese-English interpretation.
