As Blue Planet Foundation’s Executive Assistant, Chika handles internal operations and administrative matters. She was born and raised in Japan till her mid-teen years when she moved to Hawaii. As a graduate of University of Hawaii’s School of Travel Industry Management, she brings with her experiences and knowledge of the state’s largest commercial industry — tourism.
Her most recent professional role was a brand manager at the state’s tourism agency, overseeing the multiple international markets as well as spearheading the redesigning of the agency’s consumer faced website. Her prior experiences also include project management, communications, cable businesses, video production, contract procurement and professional Japanese-English interpretation. She is eager to apply her wide range of skills to help promote Blue Planet’s initiatives.
Chika takes great interest in wellness and is an avid user of natural essential oils.
